Welcome to Faith Communities for Families and Children

Faith Communities for Families and Children (FCFC) is a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, economically diverse coalition of faith based organizations that provide support for and advocate on behalf of children and families involved in Los Angeles County and California’s juvenile justice system.

As faith leaders, FCFC members are called to exercise our moral authority and influence to promote a vision where respect for the fundamental dignity of all human life, compassion, healing, and restorative justice characterize our juvenile justice system.  We integrate the components of direct service, public education, and advocacy for systemic change.  Our membership includes Protestants of several denominations, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Buddhists and Sikhs.  Our philosophies, beliefs and practices are even more diverse than this simple list indicates.

What brings us together is a common call of all of our faith traditions which professes preferential love for the children who are most in need.

Because we are faith communities, we believe in the strength of the human spirit, the possibility of repentance and redemption and the importance of rooting the individual in the wider community.
